Freedom is to not be carried along it is to stand against the stream. This by nature implies aloneness, which is not the outsider nor is it isolation; it is something altogether much more remarkable.
Togetherness does not come about through ‘belonging’ (to the tribe, the sect, the nation, the group), it comes into being only through aloneness. Aloneness is quite different from loneliness. Aloneness is the freedom to be, free from all influence and all conditioning. Only then can there be a true spirit of cooperation and a togetherness that is free of dependency.
Aloneness is integrated, indivisible, individual and whole. Aloneness means ‘all one’. When this happens there is freedom and joy.
